Speech from October 6, 1999

You are your network. In a world where smart people move at lightening speed, keeping in touch with those people may be one of your most important tasks.

Thanks to the Internet, that task has become easier. Networks are breaking out all over. For example, Microsoft alums pay a $100 annual fee to join the Microsoft Alumni Network. The group offers a current directory of members whereabouts’ and activities. It sponsors live events on everything from raising money for startups to serving on non-profit boards.

The value of such networks is clear. Their potential is limitless. The success of the network is directly proportional to the willingness of each member to share with the group their individual strengths and interests.

I believe The BS Club will develop into a resource rich club of happy, healthy and financially content people who will cooperatively support club members individual business and social agendas by using online and in person communication.

My short-term goal was to create online and in person environments where club members would feel comfortable socializing while doing business and doing business while socializing. I believe, what we have now in our web site, www.TheBSClub.com, and meeting place, Lovells, is a great start.

My long-term goal is to grow The BS Club to a level where the membership will financially support the cost of the web site, meetings and beyond.

The mandate you have before you is to help support The BS Club. Start by reaching out to your circle of influence. Bring someone, who fits The BS Club mold, to the next meeting.
